Teaching experience
Robyn has gained experience teaching the A-level biology curriculum. She specialises in
teaching tricky topics and exam techniques which help gain extra marks to help push the
student up to a higher grade. She runs group exam prep sessions for the 11+ exams that cover
common exam questions and key concepts. She has tutored her A-level peers; currently she
mentors and teaches younger medical students.
She is also experienced with one-on-one lessons, teaching students that have additional
learning needs while working on their techniques to enhance their focus and engagement with the
curriculum.
Tutoring Approach
Her approach to teaching involves concentrating on key concepts whilst practising
exam questions and the techniques involved in solving them to ensure the student understands
the curriculum. This gives the student a strong knowledge base and improves their ability to
answer exam questions confidently and precisely.
For the 11+ exam preparation, Robyn likes to incorporate teaching games such as a timetable
quiz which would encourage the younger students to engage more actively whilst gaining
knowledge.
